A Warm Welcome

As we move into early summer in the southern hemisphere, we welcome some great new developments, both at the lodge as well as in Zambia!
We are excited to welcome Mark and Belina to our management team, as well as the news that Zambia has dropped visa requirements for many of our key source markets.
We look forward to welcoming you to Zambia for your next safari destination.
A warm welcome to our new General Manager, Mark McCormick!
Born and bred in the city of Harare, Mark is a passionate Zimbabwean. Having completed his schooling in South Africa, he attended the University of Cape Town (UCT), graduating with a B.Sc. Honours in Property Studies. Mark spent most university vacations travelling and enjoying his time in the bush, self-driving throughout southern Africa.
Upon graduating from UCT he spent an additional few months travelling by overland vehicle through East Africa, visiting some of the region’s most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries. After experiencing such awe-inspiring parts of Africa, he was left inspired by what this continent has to offer. The need to conserve and showcase such quality resources left Mark motivated to make a difference and engage in all its potential.
After two years in the corporate world as an Assistant Construction Project Manager, Mark realised he wanted to pursue his passion for nature and conservation and worked as a field guide and lodge manager at &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve.
Mark's strong leadership qualities, people skills, work ethic and great sense of humour will stand him in good stead as the lodge's new General Manager, supported by Peter Jones and The River Club team. Mark is looking forward to making a positive impact; an exciting yet challenging chapter lies ahead – we wish you all the success in your new journey here at The River Club!
At the same time we extend a very warm welcome to Belina Munanyimbo as our new Guest Relations Manager!
Belina was born and raised in Livingstone, having studied Hotel Management and Catering as well as Marketing Management at the University of Zambia.
She then started her hospitality journey in 2001 at the then Sun International Resort in Livingstone as part of the opening team for the Royal Livingstone Hotel in various roles from 2001 to 2008.
Friendly and goal-oriented, Belina loves a challenge.
She resigned from Sun International in 2008 and got a job as a Reservations Department Supervisor at The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa, where she was again part of the opening team of the lodge. Belina worked in various roles from 2008 to 2022, the last being Acting Assistant Food & Beverage Manager.
Belina has now joined The River Club family in the role of Guest Relations and Rooms Manager and is excited about this new chapter in her life.
We are looking forward to your positive impact at The River Club!
